Liz Winston and Mae West must both be women after my own heart!

Those are awesome!

These are great! Here are a couple from my sainted father: "You just missed another GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY to keep your goddamned mouth shut!" And, "Everybody is entitled to their own stupid opinions!"

I must admit that your dear old father gave me a good chuckle!

I am pleased that you enjoyed these.

I love them all but Mae West certainly has the best one. I love h er old movies and we check them out from the library all the time. She was a master of the double entendre.

I am constantly quoting her lines--When I am good, I am very, very good, but when I am bad, I'm better!

Love these, Angie! I hope what Beth says is true because from now on I'm standing up to eat!
comment by sunlight on Aug 24, 2008 12:28 PM ()
I did!! You're right!

Did you happen to see the funny about holding the scales on your feet while lying down? That would go along with the quote!
reply by angiedw on Aug 26, 2008 10:06 AM ()
ah yes, love that last one!

I wish that I could just put that into practice--I'm a glutton for punishment!

That one's my favourite.

"Everyone's entitled to my opinion. - Madonna" For starters!
comment by jjoohhnn on Aug 24, 2008 7:38 AM ()
This must be a common thought. I have had many in my life who have felt the same.

Great to have you back, Angie!I'm all caught up on your posts. Hope you can survive your "new old" family. I once rejected my daughter's request to return home (with her husband-to-be). Wise decision as it turned out. Wish you the best.
comment by solitaire on Aug 24, 2008 6:39 AM ()
I know; I wish I had the fortitude to do likewise, but when one is destitute--what do you do. Things are working out ok, however. I have them all employed and the daughter is looking for a place to rent. It all just takes time.

I loved all the quotes, but this one (It doesn't matter what you do in the bedroom as long as you don't do it in the street and frighten the horses.-Mrs. Patrick Campbell) didn't make much sense to me.
comment by hopefields on Aug 24, 2008 3:52 AM ()
We should always be tasteful about the way we act in public, but what we do in the privacy of our bedroom is our business. Of course, you knew that already.
