  The Maverick

John McCain, the maverick, has had varying opinions on various issues lately (when not approving negative adds), and seems to be now in conflict not only with Bush, but also with the conservative wing of his party. So I was curious whether the term "maverick" was actually accurate. The definition I found was:

"An unbranded range animal, especially a calf that has become separated from its mother, traditionally considered the property of the first person who brands it."

Originally I thought the administration had finally put a brand on him, but lately it looks like he is still just wandering around separated and fair property for whomever rounds him up.

As of today, it is beginning to look like Senator McCain, in claiming many of Obama's ideas as his own, has become a copy-calf!

If there was ever that slim chance that I would vote for him, it was destroyed by his choice of running mate.

I copy that- good grief!. It had to be just a cynical political attempt to get Hillary supporters - since McCain wanted turncoat Joe L. Well probably it will backfire

Good comment. Maybe he is a wind vane, pointing it different directions as the political winds blow
