On July 3rd we had a grand surprise party for one of our favorite 'eights' to celebrate his 60th birthday. His birthday isn't actually until July 20th but wife Joyce really wanted to surprise him and figured a party 17 days before the actual day was one way of assuring the surprise. IT WORKED! He was surprised! Everyone had a great time!
Bob Gallion was the emcee of the festivities and was a huge hit as he gave an abbreviated version of Tom's life --- so far.
'Diana Ross' (without the Supremes) and (with more chest hair than we remembered) made a surprise visit to the Chudy household and made an instant hit with the crowd as she serenaded 'Little Tommy Chudy' with a Marilyn Monroe-like rendition of 'Happy Birthday. She went on to sing one her 60's favorites - 'Stop - in the name of Love' to Tom's great delight. Tom was the perfect foil for 'Diana' and helped to make the act a standout performance.
