Beyond Gotcha: The Mosquito Agenda

The Huffington Post — Coupled with the threat of losing health care benefits and declining or absent pensions, facts on the ground underscore the growing economic anxiety and "bitterness" felt by many American workers and their families. The time is ripe for some kind of new New Deal — but where will it come from?

Mosquito Agenda

Many owners of luxury homes put the keys into the mail box and drive to greener pastures. Universally, they neglect to drain their swimming pools.
Quickly, the mosquitoes use the pools as breeding spaces and soon the youngsters seek blood for nourishment. Thus, they can carry diseased blood to a radius of five miles to infect other creatures.
This is a boon for health professionals and emergency rooms. The municipalities must hire workers to destroy the insects, so the pesky critters are creating jobs.
How many businessmen can make that statement?

Oh, Lord! There are so many empty homes in Southern California -- ALL of which have pools -- undrained pools... I guess the companies that make that "Off" stuff that you put on to keep bugs away from you will be making a fortune. Otherwise, there are going to be a lot of sick people!

That's a good idea! It would solve a LOT of problems!

If the banks foreclose on a place, they should allow the former owners to live there rent free to protect the place. Deserted homes invite vandals, crack heads and unsavory types. My Arab friends will squat in a deserted house. The city lets them alone, because it costs a fortune to evict them.

The house had been home for four generations. They took everything to our backyard and conducted an auction. My mom had to go to the nursing home.
She fooled them by living 12 more years to age 95. Pennsylvania had to pay $1,120,000 for her care.
They were wonderful to her at the nursing home.
