Why Republicans Win
Mike Dukakis committed political suicide in 40 seconds.

Nixon's father died after 12 days of agony. His first campaign stop after the funeral was in Buffalo, where he "honored" his beloved father's memory thus (I quote one of my favorite Nixon biographies). He began, ”’My father’—then paused, as if to contain his emotions, gripping the podium, and went on--’I remember my father telling me a long time ago, ‘Dick, Dick,’ he said, ‘Buffalo is a beautiful town.’ It may have been his favorite town.’ Nixon flew on to Rochester, where he began his speech in exactly the same fashion... He repeated the performance in Ithaca. One efficient reporter kept notes.”)

Dick Morris Knock Out Obama in August

Richard Land of the Southern Baptist Convention just said his followers would prefer "a third-class fireman over a first-class arsonist."
"Arsonist"—that isn't a racially loaded word at all:

The Knock Out Obama Ad

THINK!
"Who nominated Hitler"—Hitler.
"Who nominated Mussolini?"—Mussolini.
"Who nominated Stalin?"—Stalin.
"Who nominated Roosevelt?"—Roosevelt.
"Who nominated Willkie?"—THE PEOPLE.
VOTE FOR WILLKIE
Andrew Jackson, whom Roosevelt has adopted a his patron saint, expressed his opposition to a Third Term with his customary vigor, though he easily could have been reelected for life.... There is, however, one outstanding endorsement of a Third Term for Roosevelt, delivered in 1939, it reads:
"The tradition of the Third Term in the Presidency must be set aside and President Roosevelt reelected."
Earl Browder, candidate of the Communist party for President, made that statement. He is now in a Federal penitentiary, serving a term for use of a false passport.
Do the voters of this democratic nation agree with Washington, Jefferson and Jackson—or with Earl Browder?
Shall we restore democratic government with Wendell Willkie, or lose it with Franklin D. Roosevelt?"

I've been worried about the fact that McCain seems to be even with Obama in the polls, when the Democrats should have had a slam dunk this time around. The Dems seem smart enough, why are they blowing it every time? Maybe voting for Roosevelt for life was a mistake.

Well, yes. Every Dec. 7th, my husband gives that "Yesterday... " speech. And, I guess Truman finished it off. Were we winning at that point? It seems to me we were, so with or without the A-bomb we would have prevailed. I guess my husband knows a lot about wars, and I know not much.

Glad to hear the polls aren't reflecting reality... I was worried!

The polls are skewed. Gallup doesn't poll cell phone owners. They check off newly registered voters as "unlikely to vote" and thus don't record their opinion. The MSM will do anything to prolong the Presidential contest.
Wendell Wilkie was an Isolationist.
The Russians alone could have beaten the Germans, but I don't think anyone but us could have put down Japan.
