For Caroline

I hope you are at peace.

My neighbor passed away very suddenly recently and we are all reeling from the shock. There are only 3 houses on our block, so we see each other often. Her oldest boy is 15 and he was my original pet sitter when we moved into this house. Her youngest boy is 10. She also leaves her husband and two cats. She was only 50 years old and they still don't know what she had.
I've been thinking about this song all day probably because it fits my mood.

You are right. She's definitely singing and cooking and taking other folks into her family. She always cooked huge meals for holidays and invited everyone. Now, her friends are taking turns making meals for her family on the weekdays. It's a wonderful way to honor her.

As I logged on to here a few moments ago it was to write the post which, I am about do do, but oddly enough, I decided to read & reply to the messages I had 'first' - instead of my usual 'blog first, then respond to messages'.
It is so traumatic, when someone dear to you passes on, but, hopefully God had decided to 'take her, away from the pain' instead of the pain away from her; he, would have had his reasons.

So sorry to hear this news, and I would bring you a nice Jello salad with lots of fluffy ingredients or maybe a pie to cheer you up if I was nearby. I haven't heard from you in so long, today I was thinking of shaking the tree (Randy) about what does he know about what is going on with you and so forth.

Thanks for thinking of me. I don't like to spread my gloomy moods around so, I didn't. But Caroline's death really helped put things in perspective.

Dear Cat, Haven't seen you in a while. I became staunch friends with a New York neighbor some years ago and lost her last year. She leaves a real hole in my life. It is particularly saddening for you because Caroline was so young. My sympathy.
