  Money, That's, What I Want!"

Money don't get everything it's true
What it don't get, I can't use
Now give me money
That's what I want
That's what I want, yeah
That's what I want

I don't know if anyone remembers the battle I had with the insurance company about a year ago when they refused to reimburse me for a road service claim. It was a huge battle too! I finally wrote to the insurance commissioner. I had my check about 2 weeks l later. Well, their computer coughed up another check for the same claim last fall. I cashed as fast as I could. Guess what? I got another one! Yup it's for the same claim, the same date of service, etc. I cashed that one too.

Then there were all the towing and cab fees on the day I went to court to get my divorce. There two towing bills, first to my usual mechanic, then to the dealer. The two bills were about $150 because of the distances involved. My current insurance company reimbursed me for $50, because they only pay for one claim per incident.

So, I guess the first insurance company is making up for the second one's silly policy! Now, if I could just get one more reimbursement check, I'd have my cab fare covered. That was about $40 when you factor in the tip.

The best things in life are free
But you can keep them for the birds and bees
Now give me money
That's what I want
That's what I want, yeah
That's what I want

Speaking of insurance, the renewal notices for my ex's car insurance are still being sent to one of my email addresses. A couple of weeks ago, the renewal was for about $250 more than mine. I laughed.

Today, he got another notice showing that his premium has been increased again, by nearly $200. Now it's over twice as much as mine, and it's even more than we paid jointly. I really don't want to know what he did to make his premium increase so much, but I can't say he probably doesn't deserve it.

I'm just SO glad I'm not married to him anymore!

You're lovin' gives me a thrill
But you're lovin' don't pay my bills
Now give me money
That's what I want
That's what I want, yeah
That's what I want

I took all three of my girls to the vet today for their annual check-ups and heart worm tests and shots, etc. Bella needed a follow up on her back pain and it was about time for the shots, so I just combined it all in one visit. Two of them needed rabies shots, two of them needed parvo vaccines, all got bordetella and lepto and blood drawn for the heart worm tests. They will run extra tests on Cassie's blood because she needs a dental and will probably have some more teeth pulled. She had three pulled 3 1/2 years ago when she had her first dental.

I bought a one year supply of Sentinel (heart worm preventative) for each dog to get a special price and Bella got some more pain pills.

The total bill? Sit down before you read this. It was $718. I could hardly breathe when she told me how much it was! That was after a bunch of discounts and so on for multiple pets and some extra savings because the vet realized how much I would be spending, etc., etc., etc.  That's not as much as my ex's insurance premium for 6 months, but still. It's a LOT of MONEY!  I sure hope that one insurance company keeps reimbursing me for that road service claim. Let's see, that's another 14 checks I would need... Nah, probably not gonna happen.

I've read about how much people have to spend on their pets... it's a lot, but they are like your kids, aren't they? Guess it's part of the love you show them for the love they return to you.

That was money well spent on your babies. You are a responsible pet person and I admire that trait in you! Four Paws up and a big Bow Wow!!

I can't think of anything cute, clever, or even cynical to reply on, so I'll keep my mouth shut. Smart decision, huh?

Mary and I pay more in vet bills every year than we pay for our own health care.

Yep, vet bills can be daunting. Years ago Ed and I tried to
save Scratchie, our beautiful white kitty whose diabetes
wouldn't respond to any insulin tried. $7,000 later he died
anyway, but we'd do it again. He was one super kitty.

I would do the same for any one of my furbabies, Teal. So sorry about Scratchie.

Thanks Steve. I may contact you for recipes for some mushy food for Cassie. It will depend on how many teeth they take out.

Thanks Kristy. I couldn't do it any other way, and neither could you, right?
