I've honestly never had a full set of matching cookware. The husband
and I got bits and pieces of Calphalon, both the Professional Hard Anodized and the Commercial Hard Anodized when we got married as it was part of our registry. I added one or two pieces to what we got when we got married. Unfortunately, Calphalon has discontinued both of these lines so I can't purchase a full 10-piece or 12-piece set of either.
Over the years, my in-laws have sent us
various pieces of cookware (not Calphalon). So, I have this mismatch of cookware and typically, we find that we don't have the pieces we really need/want, such as a Dutch Oven.
Unfortunately, I'm not really satisfied with the Calphalon because none
of it is non-stick. (They came out with the non-stick version about 4 years after we go married.) So, I'm considering purchasing a full
8-piece (or more) set of cookware.
The problem is, I'm not entirely sure what I want.
I've been looking at the Calphalon Anodized Aluminum Non-stick 10-piece
set that has riveted stainless steel handles and stainless steel lids.
But, I've also been looking at an 8-piece porcelain-on-steel set with
chip-resistant enamel interiors (the frying pan in this set have
non-stick interiors instead of the enamel). I am drawn to the
porcelain-on-steel set because it comes in colors, and I'm particularly
fond of the red.
And then, there's the stainless steel set with the gleaming copper bottoms.
So, I'm taking a little poll here. Do you have a full set of cookware
and, if so, what kind? What do you like about the set you have? What do
you dislike about it?
If you don't have a full set of cookware but want to buy one, what would you consider buying?
