  Don't Quit

For those of you who knew me and read my stuff on blogster, you may have already read this.....but it is so powerful to me...and has helped me through some really tough times in my life.  I found it one day at a Hallmark store, on a day that I was having a really, REALLY bad day...I didn't know at that point where my marriage was going. There had been some events take place that shook me to the core.  And I wandered around the mall, trying not to cry. Feeling alone and lonely, feeling lost. Not knowing what to do.  I did not, nor have I ever, felt suicidal....I just didn't know what to do about my life. I wanted to call it quits....and start over again. I wanted to hop in my car and just drive...never coming back. But that would have meant leaving my babies, and I couldn't do that.  This saying was on a little card that felt like it really jumped off the rack and into my hands.  I was supposed to read it...I was supposed to hear that message right then and there.  I hope that by sharing it, it may help just one person out there.  Hugs to all ya'll!

Don’t Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will
When the road you’re trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.

Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far.
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit,
It’s when things seem worse
That you must not quit.

The credit for this goes to an unknown person. It is not my writing.

(And for the record, although I stayed married at that point in time, we did eventually divorce....but many years later)

Thanks. Wish I could take the credit for it, but I can't. I just know that it helped me tons at the time and has several times since!

Thank you. I found it truly inspiring too and keep it handy to this day, just in case! It just really spoke to me that day, when I was needing to have some direction!

Wow... what a great little saying...
I really want to quit my job though. I don't think it'll get better by sticking it out...

Well now, ya gotta keep it in perspective. Sometimes the best thing to do is to QUIT something......and I think for you, quitting your job would be the best thing for you!!
