Why Greasy.com? I have been asked this question many times recently...so, I thought I would explain a bit about the name choice.

I purchased greasy.com for about $650 on eBay around 8-9 years ago. This was before the .com names exploded in value. I thought it was a cool name. I have had it since then wondering what to do with it. During those years, I was quite busy with other projects...plus, I just never really came up with anything fun.

A couple of years back John Heder and his brothers wanted to purchase the name for their production company (Greasy Productions). We talked for a bit, but no agreements were ever reached. BTW, John Heder (see below) is the guy who played Napoleon Dynamite (2004). He also was in Blades of Glory (2007) with Will Ferrell. I think I was going to let them use the name for nothing as long as he blogged something (on Blogster at the time) once a month. I think I was also trying to get an audience with John so my girls could meet him.




Again, the domain sat for a year or so... After I sold Blogster, I had some blogging code and an idle domain. So, I thought I would give Greasy a fancy design & do some recoding. That is about it...Greasy.com was born. Hmm, not really sure of the birth date though? I will have to come up with something good. How about January 01, 2008? I think I had the doors open in late 2007, but mostly it was beta users.
