Ted and I found a house four blocks from the kids that had a lot of features we wanted and we signed a contingency contract that hasn't been accepted yet. The yard could be lovely with a little tlc. It has a magnolia tree, a papershell pecan tree and a mimosa tree and perenial flower beds and nice plantings but it is very overgrown. The house itself is brick, with a front porch and has a large tree shading the porch. There is a formal living room, a large family room with a fireplace and a large florida room.
It has 2 and a half baths. Naturally, I have it decorated and furnished in my mind. The kitchen and bedrooms are very small. It has a big utility room, (large enough for a treadmill and ironingboard and a nice pantry. Whatever will be will be.

Ted can;t even think about it because it makes him anxious.

Rex smells like mothballs this morning. He was only out for 20 minutes and I can't believe he would eat one. Nor can I imagine where he would get a mothball. Our new neighbors have a new puppy and Rex thinks it is a terrible infringement on his territory, as do the dogs across the road. Must check him out. Bye for now.

Dear Jeri, I am never convinced that moving to be
near the kids is an answer but you have to go with your
heart and anyway, I don't have kids, so how could I
know? Could/would they move to be near you? You have
such a great place now.

they can't move close to us because they both work in OKCY. Things will work out whichever way they go. I would love to be close to the girls. I think they need us, especially Adrienne.

Mothballs are naptha - probably not good for dogs. I wonder if you can get him to drink a lot of water to flush out his system.

Thankfully, after I got Rex down and smelled his breath, I figured out that he only rolled in them. He rolls in everything that smells bad like carrion. This is an unlovely habit and he is still grossing us out with the smell after all this time. Also he stole catfood last night. Naughty, naughty Rex.

Speaking about Rex,my first cocker to eat cigarettes butts.
He loved it.Maybe this what killed him.
Mothballs are very dangerous to animals.A note.

He didn't eat them he only rolled in them which is bad enough. They blew down off my neighbor's patio.

Incongruous isn't it? You have to have a really LARGE air conditioner1

LOVE THE REX!!!
Too cool about the possible house! I love looking at houses and imagining putting them together in my head... Enjoy!

Fortunately Rex only rolled in mothballs. You would love him. He is such an adorable doof. He is trying to be a watch dog but he scares himself.

Wow! You really are moving, and a lot faster than I will ever move! Don't think I will sell my house soon.

This is all contingent on us selling the farm and the offer being accepted.
It may not be because we asked for a new airconditioner and a new roof.
We haven't shown the place in a while. Good luck on yours.

I hope it all works out for you two Jeri!! What is a Florida room?
comment by texastar on July 8, 2008 6:26 AM ()
Oh ok. Kind of like a sun room? My MIL and FIL have one of those.

thank you so much Jenn. A Florida room is glassed in on 3 or more sides.
They are lovely, especially if you like plants, as I do.
