  Painting ... .But Not Art

I have painted about everything that stands still. Fredo asked me where I have been and the answer is outside painting deck furniture, iron fences and gates etc. We have a huge iron gate at the entrance to the farm that says Shadybrook and is made out of old iron wagon wheels. It has to be painted every year or so.

Ted and I have not done any art for ages. We just accumulated a lot that we are not proud of enough to hang. I painted a lot of portraits, (my favorite thing) but my children didn't seem to appreciate them. You can see Adrienne's portrait if you go to blogster and click on my picture gallery. Ted is a much better artist than I. He does wood sculpture as well as painting. I do like to design jewelry...just the costume stuff. We both like pottery and when we first retired took a couple of classes.

The festival of the Arts is going in Oklahoma City. It is too big now and it usually rains. we went last year and saw some incredible paintings and pots. Dottie might be interested in coming and she could stay with us. It is supposed to be a hot market.

Bye for now...Jeri

Painting furniture is fun... but art painting is more fun! Went to your gallery at the other place. I liked your paintings very much. Nice portrait of your daughter. I took a class in pottery once, too.

No, we didn't. I was eleven, and still smaller than average!

Thank you sunny. That is my grandaughter who is only ten but bigger than I am and who is already having periods. We didn't use to grow up that fast.

There is so much to do in the Spring and then you get the urge when everything is new outside.

I love the art shows. There is an art flea market not far from here; it is wonderful to go and browse.

Original art is really interesting. Have you gone to Dottie's site. She is really good.

I'll look at Adrienne's photo. Been wondering what you were up to. I am going to help Kenna paint her deck in the next couple of weeks.

Yes, it does, indeed!

I enjoy both kinds of painting. A fresh coat of paint makes everything look so fresh.

Rex is lucky he didn't get painted since he stuck his nose into the paint can. All off now though.
