  Random Happenings

I so enjoyed the visit from my friend, June. It hurt to see her so frail and still crippled from her hip replacement. She was a little more subdued that usual but we had a lot of laughs remembering our lives as two single women. We used to dance all night, get home at dawn and stay up after many infusions of caffene, and work the next day. The men in our lives furnished a lot of merriment as we remembered what it was like in the small town in Eastern Oklahoma where we were exiled. I was furnishing educational services, (counseling, speech therapy and testing), to seven counties and she was Dean of Women at a Junior College.

June is still active in city government and her sorority. She is a lot of fun to be with and our families have just become family to each other. These long friendships are priceless.

The mice have gotten into the house and are very bold. China Cat has absolutely no interest in them. Ted declared war on them yesterday. We keep seeing one but there is more than a lone ranger.

It is so chilly this morning. I am longing to see the sun come out and warm us up. We got our humming bird feeder up and they are busy sipping the nectar. A stupid little bird put her babies in a pipe and I am sure they drowned yesterday in that torrential rain. The tufted tit mouse has no common sense. One of them kept urging her mate to build a nest in the foyer and he kept smashing his head against the glass until he broke his little neck. He could not be chased off.

We listed the house and farm yesterday. We will see what we will see. I certainly don't expect a quick sale. It stressed us both out and we have to clean up the hot tub and get it going. This is a job I particularly hate.

Have a good day and a good weekend.

I looked up Midwest City in the atlas. When I get a minute I will use Google Earth to get a birds-eye view of it.

So, you are thinking of moving into the big city, eh? It might be time. Happy you had a wonderful visit with June.

No, you won't be far from me at all. I live on SW 38th, just about a half mile north of Southwest Integris Medical Center.

Yes, Joan. We will be in Midwest City and not too far from you.

why can't the critters stay outside? It is so beautiful now that I can hardly make myself come in.

Oh so you are going to make the move??? Awesome!!!
And man your house sounds like wild kingdom... poor baby birds and mice with broken necks... sheesh!
Glad you and June still hang out!!! What FUN!

I have to fill the hummingbird feeder today. They drank it dry so quickly.
One is no larger than a bee, I guess he is a baby. I love living in the wild kingdom...who knows the farm may not sell.
