  Big Ole Sloppy Dinner!

So I finally got hubby to get the grill going yesterday. We had beef ribs, corn on the cob and red potatoes. The ribs were ok, but not much meat to them. We used bbq sauce on them. And between that and the butter on the corn, it was the sloppiest dinner I have ever had! Although I believe Kota took the prize for most food on his face. lol

I can't believe its already noon! I haven't done anything so far today! Mondays are just so hard to get back in the swing of things. Plus we had a storm in the middle of the night so I had to comfort animals and kota.

so I have noticed something about tv, namely the scifi channel. I think they should rename it the apocolypse channel. All the movies seem to be about the end of the world. Last night one movie was about earthquakes and they had to drop a nuclear bomb to keep the tectonic plates from moving. The next one was about meteors or something. I didn't watch that one. lol

I love bbq'd ribs! Yummy!

Wish I could have had some of your ribs. Since my husband died, I have not had much grilled food - and I love it. One grandson comes and grills, but it's been a long time.

i LOVE GRILLED FOOD! Grilled portobello mushrooms drizzled with olive oil and spinkled with fresh oregano. Yum! Grilled eggplant, or corn or bell peppers! Yum! Even zucchini and summer squash! Okay, I just had dinner and I'm hungry again!

Nope you'd be lighter! Grilled food is low cal and wonderful! Here you will get no bread, grilled veges, lean meat or fish and lots of fruit!

Dinner sounds like it was so yummy!
I have to agree with you about the SciFi Network. I love there shows. Ray loves the disaster movies they do. I am not sure why they make everything they do so dark!

actually I too love the disaster movies. as long as they make sense and seem plausible. some though are just so far fetched and dumb.

I would have to say my all time fav movie is horse whisperer. I have never seen 4 weddings and a funeral but I see it on the listings all the time.

I have just left Deb's post and she mentioned the strawberry cheesecake her s-i-l had yesterday (which I could eat) - and now the scrumptious food you had - it does, sound delicious . . . going off to the kitchen to find something to satisfy . . .

The weekend flew by too fast. I can't believe it's Monday again, nor can I believe it is the last day of June. It's cold, damp and dark here today... not much like summer.

we cooled down a little after that storm last night, only 80 today. and the weekends go way to fast!

I also like beef ribs, but aside from the amount of meat on them, they are overpriced these days. One day in Wal-mart (where I rarely buy meat) I saw something they call "country style beef ribs". When I worked in the business before college, we called it scraps for the grinder.
So, since I was having a hard time cooking beef for me and Donna at the same time (she likes it too well done for my taste), instead of Top round London Broil or something like that, I got some boneless beef shoulder and sliced it into rib-shapped pieces. I can control the cooking very easily and they taste as good as any LB or rib! Ummm.. now I'm hungry (again)....

thats a great idea! I was really surprised at the lack of meat on these, they were more like soup bones!

I like the sci fi channel for The Ghost Hunters... LOOOOVE THAT SHOW!!!
Your dinner does sound like it was messy... not the meal for a first date anyways!
