  First Day of School

Kota was super excited this morning. I didn't have to wake him up! I was getting a cup of coffee and I heard this little voice, Good Morning everyone! LOL Then he made us go out 20 minutes early to wait for the bus. So many buses go by our house, he was getting rather impatient! Yesterday we went to the school to meet his teacher. We then wandered around the school and saw our tae kwon do instructor. His wife works at the school and he has 3 grandkids who go there.

Last night I was rushing around getting things ready, packing his back pack, getting his supplies ready. I had to put his name inside his back pack. Well its black so I had to think for a minute. Then I remembered we had some tan paint. so with that and a couple of Q-tips I got his name written inside.

And in other good news, hubby might have found a place for us. Its actually right down the road from us. He has been talking to people, letting them know our situation. The manager at the donut shop, where he gets his coffee, knows of a guy who rents out trailers. She called him and explained our situation. So hubby will call him this morning. I might ride out there and see what they look like. But from what the lady told hubby, the rent is really good. And its not a trailer park so maybe there is no lot rent.

I am also going to see about getting Kota into an after school program with the boys and girls clubs. They will pick the kids up from school and take them to the facility. That might work out great for us when I start working. Plus I think our instructor also works over there in the afternoons. And its cheap!

Things are starting to look up for us. Thank you for all of your prayers and good thoughts!

it does seem like things are working out well. I kind of feel relieved about everything now. the house has been a constant worry for years. and it has just gotten worse with the economy. this could be the best thing for us.

Is this a different school than last year? I'm glad he is excited Mare. Let us know your new address. If you need to have a garage sale, I will be MzScarleet and we can help.
comment by cindy on Aug 21, 2008 6:45 AM ()
its the same school district but its the elementary school. last year the school only had kindergarten and first grade. this school is 2nd thru 5th grade. its a much bigger school but it seems nice. I am not even going to deal with a garage sale, we threw out a bunch of stuff a few months ago so we should be good to go.

Keep looking at that glass being half full, not half empty. That is call "guts" in our part of the world! You may qualify for the title of Steele Magnolia, Northern division!

the instructor really gave the kids a great pep talk last night at class. how they are the ambassadors to their dojang and how they should keep their focus at school just as in their class. I know kota was listening intently!
