Yes, I am very impressed with kota's karate school. Its a small class, I guess about 8 people of various ages and levels. There was one other new kid there. They went through the warm up exercises. Then the two new students were pulled off to the side for one on one instruction with two instructors. I watched Kota. He was focused on what he was being taught. During the warmups they also paired him with an instructor, who happened to be a teenager I think. He helped Kota with the different exercises and adjusted him when they did different moves. I am very happy with this karate class and Kota loves it! After they were all done the one instructor who was helping Kota came over to talk to me and hubby. Ok, I got a bit flustered cuz he was a major hotty! Whew! And he did a split almost as good as Jean Claude Van Damm! Anyway, he gave a study list to help Kota with. It has their 10 commandments and also the words they use. I think its Korean. Mr. Hotty said to make flash cards to help Kota learn. And he told Kota, you come home from school you do your school homework first! Oh yeah I have a pic of kota!

I had to get a rag to wipe your drool off my computer screen.....ya gotta quit that, ya know! What a handsome lil guy! He'll be great at the karate....and it is sooooo good for him! Don't tell me.....you're going to join the class too so you can watch Mr Hotty do the splits every time, right? LOL!

One of the other guys there, he works at our walmart and knows us, he asked me if I was going to join. Kota doesn't really want me to, its his thing.

I only wish we had signed him up sooner. I have never seen him so focused and really listening to the instructor. he is not the fastest runner and they do laps around the room. when he finishes they all clap and holler. it makes him feel so good!

thanks! he is doing really good with it. last night he seemed to remember alot of the moves. and the instructor commented on it, the whole class applauded for him!

Oh my gosh, he looks so grown up in the picture,I love it. I love his expression...trying to look all big and bad..*grins* I think Karate will be great for him.

the first shocking thing, today right when we got home from school he did his homework! they told him at karate that he has to do school work before karate!

Don't tumble dry the Gi's though, they tend to shrink loads

Lol they are impressive when they strut there stuff, I told Roger a thousand times that I fancy him more in a GI than in normal clothes he-he!

Iron the Gi when it's 'almost' dry, then hang it to finish drying completely. BTW they are horrible to iron, i'd sooner iron a thousand shirts than 7 Gi's a day

thanks for that tip! do I need to iron the uniform? they had to show me how to tie that knot with the belt.
I don't know if that he is so good looking or that he is so good at tae kwan do. when he did the jean claude split I almost fell out of my chair!

He's hot, huh? Breathe through your nose girl! Easy does it! Martial arts training is such a good thing for kids! It build confidence and teaches discipline and respect along with self-defense. Glad he likes it!

I was very impressed with the other kids there. they all pitched in to help out kota for his first day. He was not very interested when I mentioned team sports but when we told him karate, he totally went for it!

Aww... too cute! Good for him! You should show him the Karate Kid (although some of the scenes are kind of dated.) I only saw it for the first time a few weeks ago... now I finally understand the meaning of "Wax On. Wax Off."

The picture of Kota is so sweet...he looks so proud!

I think that the karate will be so beneficial for Kota... they learn really valuable lessons along with the actual karate.

there is another karate place around here that we checked out. it was way more expensive and I was not impressed at all. seems its the prestige place for parents to take their kids. even the other parents at this place were great!

I am hoping it helps with self control also. we have had some issues with him at school. kids pick on him and he smacks them. not a good thing, although I kind of don't blame him.

I highly recommend it Gee! its different from team sports in that they get one on one instruction and they can progress at their own speed. there was one tiny little girl and she was excellant! kota thoroughly enjoyed it!

its tae kwan do. they do competitions with other companies also. I can't wait for that! I think we will go to one they have coming up just to show our support.
