Sleepless and Dreams

the animals were conspiring last night to keep me from sleeping. First of all when I went to bed, I read until midnight, just was not sleepy! Then as soon as I turned the light out the antics started. First came rambo who wanted on the bed. And he cannot jump onto the bottom of the bed, oh no. He wants me to move so he can jump up. That happened two or three times. Then one of the cats kept knocking the night light out. Yes I have to sleep with a night light, cannot sleep if it is totally dark. That happened twice till I kicked his little cat butt out of the bedroom. Then I had a crazy dream. Apparently there was some bad guy breaking into houses. So I had two state troopers circling my house. At one point I thought I saw a man out on the porch so I called the state troopers over. They gave me a baseball bat in case the guy broke in. I guess I was on my own. lol

I made chicken and dumplings yesterday and hubby raved about how great it was. We chuckled cuz one time at the diner we all ordered chicken and dumplings. What we got was a half of chicken not cut up and a plate of dumplings. Tonight its bratwurst but not sure how I will cook them or what sides. I haven't thought that far ahead. hey guess what, I have laundry to do!

Oh pets! They simply have no respect!

Our cats start getting rowdy at about 4 a.m. If there's a plastic bag in the room, Luna will start licking it -- or she'll chew my hair. Othertimes the two of them try to get in the window blinds. Now we keep a spray bottle by the bed.

BTW, What a dream!!

I have 5 dogs that sleep with me.They all fight to see who can get the closest to me.I actually have come close to being smothered when one decides my head is a good spot.

I cheated, these were what they call slippery dumplings. to me its just big flat noodles. however in winter I do make my homemade german style dumplings. now that is food that sticks to your ribs!

Hi Elkhound! I came to visit you. Your doggies and kitty are keeping you up at night? I hope you don't send them to doggy and kitty school. They would be lonely. I like chicken. I don't know what dumplings are.

I forgot to thaw them today, so we will have them tomorrow. and potato salad is an excellant idea! hubby does the grilling so I will have to sweet talk him to cook dinner tomorrow.

It is so tough when the animals do that. Sometimes, I think Jolie and Belle are plotting to prevent us from sleeping when they take turns trying to be noisy at night.

Chicken and seafood are my favorites! (feel the same way you do about enjoying chicken in any form)

Try to stay away from red meat. Like a baked ham but the salt is not good for my high bp

I love chicken in just about any form! I guess cuz its basically all we can afford anymore.

I do have quite a zoo here, could use a goat for the yard.

Oh man... I don't think I could handle all the pet/sleep disruptions. I'd be kicking little animal butts out of my room for sure.

actually I am way behind on my tan! I do have a farmers tan from working outside. guess I should wear my swimsuit while gardening! this weather has been great. I love to sit outside and feel the sun on my face.

yesterday I couldn't find the lid to the crock pot. so I boiled the chicken first. When it was cooked I took it out and put the dumplings in the pot to boil. I cut up the chicken into bite size pieces and then added back to the pot. the only problem I have is that it tends to soak up all the juice!

kota is usually pretty good at letting get a rest in. I do keep my ears open though, he has been known to do experiments when I am resting.

Hey next time you can't sleep you can always talk to your night owl pal here.

I understand about not sleeping and having crazy dreams. I have had some doozies here the past week being on pain meds. and muscle relaxers.

Hope you have a good day and can catch a nap sometime this afternoon. I am going to take one as I have been awake all night.

I should have got on the computer. it sure beats tossing and turning and entertaining the animals! I usually catch a rest around 2 in the afternoon. but I really need to get some things done around here.
