  Spring Storms, Miley Cyrus Topic

We had alot of storms go through yesterday, lots of good rain too. I heard some rumbles of thunder overnight, mainly because Rambo woke me up getting on the bed. But we had nothing like they had in Virginia where a major tornado touched down.

Waiting for the bus this morning, everything looks so bright and alive. The birds were singing, there was a light breeze blowing. It smelled fresh and clean.

I was a big lazy bum yesterday. I watched a Stephen King movie, The Mist. It was really good and followed the book closely until the very end! that was a shocker to me!

My neighbor T has told me that in previous years when she has had a garden, she has taken some to the local farmers market to sell. She said this year maybe we both could do that! Sounds like a good idea to me!

Is it just me or is this crap about miley cyrus crazy? I thought the picture she did was very tasteful. Is it because of her age that people are questioning it, or that she is a role model for young girls? I just didn't see anything wrong with the picture. She is a beautiful girl. And her daddy is pretty hot too! I feel the media is trying to find dirt on her to put her in the category of other pop stars, like ms britney spears. The media invades their life and then says, oh look what we found! Its sickening actually. This is my opinion only. What are your thoughts?

The ending of the Mist really threw me for a loop. I really enjoyed the movie right up until that point... not that I need movies to end with everything tied up in a pretty lil' bow, but it just felt too yucky and gut-wrenching for me.

I haven't seen the picture yet, so I can't comment on it. Guess I'll have to google it.

She should have not say anything that she felt guilty of.
It is a wonderful shoot and innocent.
The media sucks .The people are very prudish.
she will be fine. She is young and dad will lead her the way.
there will be so many remarks out there.
Mom and Dad I think that they may have learned something from
this.Annie L.the photographer is the best in the world.
I understand she is hurting some and this is normal.
Leave the kid alone.

that is how I saw the photo also, as showing her innocence. its a beautiful shot of her. I think as long as her Dad is her life influencing her, she will be fine.

I so agree about poor Miley! I feel bad for her. I think the media is looking for her to fail.

that is exactly how I feel AJ! They have built her into this teen icon and now they want to expose her as some wild teenager.

She is 15 and adults have to respect that instead of trying to cash in on her--Annie is one of the best photographers around but she should have known better-Miley is going to be exploited as much as she can be and it is time for her parents to step in now and tell her 'handlers' to back off--she is a kid--let her stay a kid!
comment by greatmartin on Apr 29, 2008 8:59 AM ()
that is a good point martin. perhaps her dad is even a bit naive when it comes to this stuff. I still say the pic showed more of her innocence and her beauty than anything.

I notice she is moving quickly away from the Hannah Montana Moniker. Her dad should have known better than to allow the pics. Annie Liebowitz is the best, but Miley is still a minor and she should have known better, too.

I guess its the fame that causes them to be daring, and take chances they normally wouldn't. I didn't find the pic provacative, more showing her innocence.

I haven't seen the pic either but I heard her only her back was exposed. I think the issue is her age, not the picture herself. Something about how younger and younger girls are exposing more and more skin... that and there were apparently pictures last week where she was wearing a bra and laying on boys?
Today looks like it's going to be gorgeous so ENJOY!!!

I haven't seen that one, the one of her in a bra. I think the key is the parents need to be very involved and have approval power of pics, at least for photo shoots. I just thought they were making a big deal over nothing.
glad to see you are ok, after I heard about those bad storms in virginia, I was thinking of you.

I agree that the pic was tasteful. I think you are correct in that the media is just searching for some dirt because she has been such a great role model so far. That is the price you pay for fame though.

I too thought it was very tasteful, she was not showing anything. crazy media!

I have no idea what picture you're talking about but I can tell you that I hate Hannah Montana only because she has replaced Dora the Explorer in my house and I've seen one too many episodes!
comment by janetk on Apr 29, 2008 6:03 AM ()
I could not stand Dora! I was so thankful when kota outgrew that stage. I have to fight him to be able to watch hannah montana. I also like that show with the twin boys living in the hotel.

I will never ever watch that stupid movie. My son saw it. He said it was really good till the end and the ending really upset him. I made him tell me. I'd be soooooo upset. Forget it! By the way, I understand that this was the director's decision and wasn't in the book.
comment by teacherwoman on Apr 29, 2008 5:51 AM ()
the book had a better ending. stupid director! I was just happy that it followed the book so closely, up until that point. then I wanted to throw something at the TV!

My Emily worships Miley - aka 'Hannah Montana'. There have been times where Emily has picked up some euphemisms but we laughed it off, I think Miley is a sweet successful little girl and yes her dad is a '(((HOTTIE)))
comment by lynnie on Apr 29, 2008 5:41 AM ()
miley does seem like a sweet girl! and from what I have heard, the photographer snapped that pic after they thought she was done. either way, I like the pic.
