  After the Storm

We had another thunder boomer go through here. We were at kota's class when it hit. the lights flashed off but came right back on. The wind was blowing and you could see all the lightning lighting up the sky. We came home, it had cleared up. I was getting on the computer and kota comes running in, you gotta see this mom! so I run out and see this big huge rainbow! You could almost see it from end to end! I ran in to grab my camera. And after a search for batteries here is what I got! Rainbows sure don't last long!

I need a new camera! its takes crappy pics!

it has been really nice here the last couple of days. low humidity and temps in the low 80's. I did sneak outside yesterday to read my book. but it was anything but peaceful with kota and the beagle.

Remember that Rainbows are God's promise never to flood the earth again. That was what I always used to tell my boys. I love rainbows. We're having a lot of thunderstorms here, actually we're about to have another. Hey, I'm home on Friday, but I'm working through the weekend. Let's chat or call.

Beautiful picture. The most wonderful, beautiful rainbow that I ever saw was in Colorado - the town where the prison is. We were traveling to Oregon and stopped for the night after a thunderstorm. I looked out and the rain bow or bows - about 4 of them was all the way to the horizon. I was in awe. Never have seen it again - or before. I also love storms and the loudest cracks of lightening I have ever heard was in Iowa. We have storms in Texas also, but guess I can't remember any great ones. Nena

that must have been amazing to see! wow! I love to be near the beach when a storm is coming. It is an awesome sight to see the lightning over the ocean.

Mary: The day my divorce was final, walking with my attorney, Mr. Yachtpayment, from the Long Beach court building, I was faced with an enormous double rainbow arching over the harbor. I took it as a sign (divorce #2) of never again!
Glad you made it through the tempest!
comment by jondude on June 17, 2008 5:47 AM ()
I would take that as a sign too Jon! I have never seen a double rainbow, I bet that was amazing.

That's a great rainbow!! With Florida being the lightening capitol of the USA we get some fabulous 'shows' in the sky--one of thsee days I have to get the camera and take some shots.

I wish I had gotten a better pic, but it was going away as I was searching for batteries. it took up the whole sky!

We've had an unusual number of T-storms in NY too. Global climate change? Maybe!
comment by jjoohhnn on June 16, 2008 5:34 PM ()
last summer we had no rain, big drought. so I am loving all these storms. and rainbow was just icing on the cake.

A lot of storms where you are As Flava Flave would exclaim,
WOWWWWWWW!!!!!"
comment by brian45 on June 16, 2008 5:27 PM ()
I will take sunshine and a clear blue sky as "God's power" over thunder and lightning any day
reply by brian45 on June 16, 2008 5:55 PM ()
I love the storms! however kota is not such a fan of big loud storms. I could watch them the whole time, the lightning, the wind, the pouring rain. To me its peaceful. Crazy I know, a storm being peaceful. I guess its just evidence of God's power.
