  Wild Weather

Last evening the storms hit, and it only got worse overnight. wind gusts to 50 mph, heavy downpours. So my area has some flooded roads. Hubby called me after he left for work, warning me not to go my usual way to take Kota to school, as the road was completely flooded. He was not even going to attempt crossing it with his big truck! And on the news the stupid school district said buses cannot come out my way and if you keep your child home they will have an excused absence. Why didn't they just close? Its bad out there! I was keeping kota home anyway. We were up alot last night. The wind and rain kept us awake. So far we have not lost power. But this is supposed to continue throughout the day. There is a community further east of me, close to the bay, they have mandatory evacuations. I think we will be safe here. I will keep an eye on the news today though, in case I think we need to go somewhere. the circular motion of this storm makes it look like a tropical storm!

Just heard we had an inch of rain friday and an inch and a half overnight last night! it is still coming down. I will report back throughout the day to let you know we are ok.

You are going to need Noah to stop by your place with his ark!

And we had record temperatures here--in the high 90s!!! It's all that Sputnik's fault!!!

on the news they are saying this is the worse storm since hurricane isabel hit a few years ago! I am safe and cozy in my house, although kota is driving me a bit crazy. he keeps wanting to go outside!

The news has been full of the terrible storms hitting throughout the United States--We had the winds yesterday with power outages throughout Southern Illinois, but the storms hitting elsewhere have been so very terrible. Take care and let us know how things are going.

the phones are going in and out and my daughter was so worried about us. but then she got a hold of her dad and he let her know we were ok. so far we only had the power blink out for a second. but its 46 degrees!

Keep an eye on the weather for sure. Pack a bag just in case so you can leave in a hurry if you have to. Stay safe

good idea about the bag. wonder if I can fit all the animals in the car!

OMG!! That is scary!! I am glad that you are keeping him home and not trying to get out in that. Maybe you and Kota can have a fun day and make something crafty. Stay safe.

I hope you guys don't either. Yikes!! I saw that on the weather channel last night. I didn't realize how bad it was. We are suppose to get storms tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday here.

thats a good idea! we have lots of construction paper and glue sticks! I have never seen it this bad out here. People closer to the beaches are being evacuated. I think we will be safe here, just hope we don't lose power.
