‹ chat statusThroughout life we compile a lot of baggage. Not just material goodies like I love to collect but take up a lot of room and cause clutter, but emotional baggage.
Leaving a relationship doesn't mean you lose the baggage. You may lose a few knick knacks, extra boxes and doo dads but getting rid of the garbage isn't that easy.
Accepting that I have baggage and working on unloading it is the best thing I can do to ensure future success of my new relationship. It also will help me like myself for conquering this big task of Spring cleaning my heart, body and soul (You know that great feeling you have when you've just finished a huge cleaning, organizing task and your house smells like pine or your favorite cleaning soap!)
So, this list will be a work in progress but I'm working on realizing what baggage I've accumulated that I can now get rid of. Next step will be figuring out steps I can take at getting rid of it. It won't be easy, but it will be worth it.
List of baggage/ ideas I want to learn to adopt:
1. Not everyone is going to like me.
2. Don't take everything people say right to heart.
3. Express my wants and needs to those I love.
4. A disagreement doesn't mean the emanate end of our relationship.
5. It's okay to ask for help.
6. Having needs doesn't make me weak.
