  "Sleepless in Epsom"

Today,it is so peace ful.

Took Buffy to day care for more social and a free day for me.

The last two weeks have been a toll on me.

Told you in some of my blogs that he is terrified of thunderstorm.

He will not give me any space at all.

I am very calm and not to get all bend out of shape.

More of the same today.

Cannot even take a nap, wham ,boom,a body on my stomach and shaking like a leaf.

So up and sat on the couch to comfy him some.

Most dog will take off and hide, not this one,he wants me to consol him.

Don't get me wrong, loved the guy.

But!need some space.

Had a wonderful half hour nap today without any interruption.

Mange to get some of my rugs wash,as I have been holding this off.

What is a mother to do.LOL.

So,after the storm took him out on the deck to tell him that the storm is over.

But,wait we have the fireworks to deal .

Tonight is the big fire works and this starts around midnight or earlier.

So it is Sleepless in Epsom.

Could you imagine what he is thinking about.?

All right now, have a great fourth and enjoyed.

Be care of fireworks.Stay Safe.Do not Drink or Drive.

Your Buffy and my 'Wolfie' are exactly the same! He will 'sense' a storm coming, then he is like a magnet around me! He is a large dog and usually he out the garden yapping at 'post-men' and any 'callers' (from a distance, I hasten to add). He sounds a right 'hard-guy' (till Lynnette & co. call round - then he is a big 'softy' - especially where Joss is concerned). But to see him during thunder/fireworks - Totally different!!
I don't like fireworks anymore, because of the affect it has on animals - some children too. Lynnie's 'Jordan', used to hate, the sounds of fireworks! I think they ought to be banned.
Give Buffy a {{{{{{{hug}}}}}}} from me

One good thing he does not bark or make any noise.
Just smother me and need to be comfort.
Did you by any chance read "Marley and Me"?
This is a great book. You will loved it.Believe me.

Fireworks originally, were only set off on 'Guy Fawkes night' ~ 5th November, in celebration of the failed attempt of blowing up the Houses of Parliament (1604 - I thhhiiinnnkkk) I'll have to check the date, in case I'm wrong.
But, now they seem to set them off at: Birthdays, celebrations at home, Christmas, New Year's Eve, New Years Day. . .Easter . . coming home from school . . . . .
No, I won't give him medications for anything (other than prescribed by the Vet) Just give him a lot of comfort and cwtch'es (welsh for 'cuddles')!

this I agreed.I hate fireworks that disturb any animals.
But this is life and we just have to put up with.
As long as I can control myself.I will be fine.
We just have to work it out.I am not giving him any kind
of medication that they speak of.Do not trust them.
when do you guys celebrate fireworks there?

nah,it not too bad.Things come and go

Dogs definitely are not fond of thunderstorms. They tend to get very afraid so I know what you are going through.
For some reason Belle and Jolie seem to take them in stride. I have never known a dog like them.

At the first explosion my dogs form a skirmish line the smaller ones advancing on the raiders. The little canines take the first bite and then turn tail. Shaming the big dogs into action, the little ones become spectators.
