Good Friday Morn, Greasytown:

     For the second night in a row I am not sleeping.  I've had way too much excitment today for one thing.  It started out with a visit from the City Housing Code Enforcement guys.  You know, the folks who come 'round and say yer house is a big shithole/eyesore and condemn it?  Well, it seems they were inspecting the house next door.....the one where the old perv lived.  And it is a shithole, lemme tell ya.  It would have to be torn down and burned before it would be fit enough to be condemned.  So they pull up in our parking area, get out and look around, take pics, discuss etc.  Don't know why they parked in our area. But anyway they left.   Then, a few hours later, (right as I was settling down for my lunch wouldn't cha know )a couple of seedy looking characters are over at the house prowling about.  There was a break in there over the winter and a lot of the old perv's stuff was stolen.  So, not wanting to take any chances, I called the police, who actually showed up in a reasonable amount of time.  The seedy characters had gone by this time though but the cops looked about to see if anything had been disturbed.  They told me to let them know if the characters returned.   In the last month and a half I have had to call the police three times.  Two for the shooting incident and now.  This is 'aspposed to be a decent, quiet neighborhood.  I personally think there is drug dealing going on someplace.  Lots of cars drive through....more than one might expect for a quiet, residential side street.  Sigh, yer just not safe anywhere.

     Then there is the bid'ness with Jethrene.   She remains determined to be a gad about.  She had her last final today and she thinks she did ok.  She's going out Saturday night with some of her friends from school to celebrate the end of the semester. Crazy Sis and I are on baby sitting detail.  I think it will do her good and mebbee get some of the wonderlust out of her system.  I do so worry about some of the choices she's been making lately.   But I suppose all I can do is advise.  She can either take it to heart or not.  I can't force her to listen to an older and wiser head.  Naturally, Crazy Sis thinks she can force Jethrene into behaving a certain way and is ranting and raving and I get the brunt.  I so want to tell all of them to leave me the hell alone and thrash it out amongst themselves.  I worry that the babies will be ill affected by all this. 

     What I need to do is let it quit bothering me.  I have my own health to concider.  I need to let them iron out their own problems.  Me working myself up into yet another heart attack will do no one any good.  Least of all moi.

I am not a good sleeper either, and I have been taking sleeping pills which are having a bad effect on me so go the herbal route. Try not to worry. Just be sure that the kids are taken care of and hopefully Jethrene's good common sense will assert its self..

Boy do I know how you feel, hang in there buggs. To top it all off, you're running for President!

tanks, Marty....a getaway to Fla. would be just the thing. They'd never track me down there. but then yer birds would squawk and chirp and keep me awake. Ah, well...'twas a good idear.

Druggies often use suburban neighborhoods as meth labs. Hope that's not what's going on in your neighborhood. I understand your concern about Jethrene. But, sometimes, kids tied down with youn'uns and school just have to blow off some steam and feel young. Hopefully, it is just a phase. Try not to let it keep you up nights. No amount of worrying will change a single thing anyway. And you know what they say. 95% of the things we worry about never happen!

I've got to unattach myself from the situation. if that means telling both Crazy Sis and Jethrene to kiss my entire a--, then that's what I must do. I'll mean I loose touch with the babies and that will be the hardest part. But what am I gonna do?

It's kinda nice that you are in the neighborhood looking out for it, ya know? I bet your neighbors appreciate it... well, unless they are part of the shadiness!

I hope your able to get some rest today, maybe a nap or something. Do you take any herbs Bugg? There is an herb that they have at Wal-Mart it's called Valerian Root, and it helps you sleep.

Oh Buggs, Hopefully she is a little older and a little wiser. Try not to worry, we were that age once. Enjoy the kids.( RU sure you aren't in NYC? Sounds like it with all the riff raff across the street)

I do hope she gets her head out of her a-- soon. Between worrying about her and putting up with Crazy Sis's ravings, it is taking its toll. The whole time I lived in The Flower City by the Lake, which is a major metropolitan area, I never, ever had to call the cops three times in one month. Now that I'm in small town USA, I've had to...and have gotten shot at on top of it. It just makes no sense
