  Updates from Cow Snot

Good Tuesday Morn, Greasytown:

Well, everyone made it to Cow Snot fine.  No problems save the childred being restless, bored and bratty which is normal.  Jethrene reports that the childred are getting on famously with their little cousins (sister Lulu Belle's  5 year old son Damien and 4 year old daughter Wednesday) and that they both took to their daddy like ducks to a pond.  There was some concern that Jethro might have a problem getting used to a man in his life after being around all girls for the past two years or so. And he was so little when Shitstick was pinched, we figured he wouldn't remember him.  Well, he had no problems and he and Daddy are fast pals now. Ditto Daisy May, who was always Daddy's girl.  She was really happy to see Daddy, Jethrene sez.  The only trouble spot seems to be Brody/Buddy.  He's having trouble adjusting.  The poor dog..in an alien place surronded by strangers who are spending time with his beloved family.  Jethrene sez he's been snarling and snapping....something he's never done before, and he's not really getting on too well with Daddy.   Everyone is hopping that with a litte patience and discipline, this will be corrected.

Now comes the clean up here.  Jethrene left in such a hurry that  her house is a shambles.  I went over there yesterday to survey the damage.  What a wreck.  It looked like Katrina had blown through.  As I looked around though, I saw toys, little clothing and stuff that belonged to the kids and was suddenly overcome.  I kept waiting for Daisy and Jethro to come pounding out of their rooms to greet me but alas they didn't.  The whole place was eerily quiet.  Save for my own weeping.   Well, I guess I'll have a project now to occupy my empty hours.  Jethrene sez she's gonna get other furniture etc. there so we have been charged with selling whatever she left behind here and sending her the proceeds.  Jolly.  The girl needs to get her head out of her ass and take responsibility for her own stuff and stop leaving issues for others to deal with.  But from what I unnerstand, this is typical of those of her generation.  I shutter at the thought of what is ahead for our world if these people are what we have to hand it over to.

Well, as my old friend Tony Soprano always sez,  whadaya gonn' do?  I think I will go turn on CNN and have some toaster waffles.  The blueberry kind.

Blueberry waffles...yum! Sounds like you really miss the kids alot...also sounds like you have a busy several days ahead of you, with selling her things.

the good part is Crazy Sis, Mama and I have not been fighting while we've been working together. A rare occurance. Guess we are all concentrating on the common goal and not personality issues.

Take heart. I have cleaned many a mess up after my son and he finally became responsible when he got married...but he was 35 then.

I hope Jethrene's mama, who is an impecable housekeeper, will beat some sense, and some housekeeping skills, into her. We live in hope.

I'm so sorry to hear about your sorrow, Buggs. It must have seemed so strange to go into that empty place!
comment by hayduke on July 23, 2008 6:59 AM ()
it gets a little easier each time but it still hurts. today I was sitting here at my desk when I picked up one of my legal pads and found a drawing Daisy May did last time she visited. Then the waterworks began anew.

Well Hell's Bells! Send her $5 and tell her that was for the whole lot! Hope you had some blueberry syrup to go on the waffles. Just don't pour it in the toaster, that makes quite a mess. Not that I know from personal experience or anything.
comment by mzscarlett on July 22, 2008 11:11 AM ()
well, that explains why I'm on my 25th toaster this year.

she's got a nice sofa and love seat that, once cleaned of children's messes/dog hair etc. should be a nice buy. plus pots, pans, a tv set varous and sundry other items. The girl was a worse pack rat than I am.

I am glad that their traveling went well. I am not sure why the youngsters of today seem to be less concerned about this kind of thing, but they definitely are.

I don't know what it is with these kids. they're all self centered, amoral, undiciplined little snots. We were nothing like that, lemme tell ya.

Forget that business! She left it behind, I say sell it and KEEP the proceeds - you are doing all the work! Cripes.
comment by kristilyn3 on July 22, 2008 7:42 AM ()
I know I should and it would serve her little irresponsible butt right but I can't in all good conscience. She and the kids are gonna need the money.

I wrote a comment about 5 minutes ago, but it didn't come up. Will try again.
I wonder if deep down, she left things so she knew she could always "come home"... just a thought. As far as the weeping, it seems that the way we women get over things, I tend to start whaling.. ( sp?) Just let it all out, ( in private) then I start to heal. As far as the blueberry pancakes go, if that doesn't work out just ring me, I have a key to the back door of Bob's diner.... we find some grub! Stay strong Buggs.
comment by cindy on July 22, 2008 7:20 AM ()
what we all need to do is go to Bob's and have a Golden Girls style Cheesecake session. I'm sure we'll feel tons better.

We all have grand-children or neices of that generation. My last granddaughter that I had to worry about (bad first marriage and a sorry husband) finally divorced him after several failed attempts to make it work, and after about three years has married a man - who looks like "hell would be a good word if I were allowed to use it} but loves her and her two children so very much. He proved it before they were ever married. It will all work out - soon or or later. Pleas add me to your blog. Nenah

I'm trying to train my son to pick up after himself and be somewhat responsible...I'll let you know when it starts to take. Now I must go and peel the capri sun straw wrapper off of my foot.

My pal never cleans. After three or four years the place becomes intolerable. We don't notice it much because washing clothes is beyond her. Whenever I go out women spray me with atomizers or whatever they have.
During the seventh year we look for a new place to collect garbage. Cow Snot appears to be a new start, if they have outlawed lynching in Wyoming.
comment by bumpedoff on July 22, 2008 4:57 AM ()
I think they have outlawed "necktie parties" there finally. too bad. I am working correcting my own slovenly ways. I recently actually threw out some crap that I didn't need and couldn't live without. I'm still alive I notice.

I see my daughter's apartment, I and wonder whose house she grew up in, cuz I know we didn't live like slobs,
comment by shesaidwhat on July 22, 2008 3:36 AM ()
we have often wondered the same thing. Jethrene's mama (my sister-in-law Suffering)is an impecable house keeper. She raised three kids, worked and still managed to keep her house so clean you could eat off the floors. We do not know where Jethrene gets that slob gene from.(Bugg sticks hands in pockets, whistles, looks around and tries to appear nonchalant)
