  Busy, Busy, Busy

It's been a very busy few days. Doctor's appointments, meetings, household cleaning, and chauffeuring the kids to where they need to go. My daughter goes to her orientation tomorrow morning for McDonalds. She got a job at the same restaurant that her brother works at. She's looking forward to the checks she will be getting now. My son worked one overnight shift and that kind of threw his body out of whack for a day. I think he only has to work one more nightime shift and then he will go back to days. I prefer that he work days anyway and I told him to tell his boss that. I'm not sure if my daughter will work morning or afternoon shifts yet. But, she's excited about it.

I am going through the house and doing some cleaning out again. It's time to weed through what we need and what just 'sits around' and takes up space. So, I plan to work on that this weekend.

My daughter has a new boyfriend. He's 16 and seems like a very responsible and mature 16-year-old. Apparently, he is a lifeguard for the Waterpark here. He is also sponsored by Element because he skateboards. She went out to Kapolei and watched him skate yesterday and said he is really good. He owns his own car and she's glad about that. They have a date planned for Sunday. Apparently, the employees at the Waterpark have a fun day on Sunday and they can each invite one guest to go with them. This young man chose to bring my daughter. It should be a lot of fun for her.

My son's girlfriend's father is in the hospital with pancreitis (sp?) and a blood clot. For those of you that pray, please pray for her dad. I guess it's very serious.

I'm very tired and off to bed. I hope everything is going great for the rest of you.

Someone in my family had pancreatitis and it was tough going! It was like perpetual morphine for her...she said she was in pain just from hearing someone talk. Anyway, she did get better, but it took a long time after for her to get back to "normal". She seems to be doing ok now, but it was hit or miss there and we knew there was a good chance we'd lose her. I will keep your daughter's boyfriend's father in my prayers.

Kelli, it's nice that your kids have such great interests. I can tell you really enjoy and cherish being their Mom.

I am impressed by your life these days. Can remember when you didn't feel "so well". Keep going UP. Nena

Pancreatitis is a very painful thing to have. I fell once and bruised the pancreatic duct, which promptly swelled shut, and the pancreas responded by trying to digest itself with all those digestive juices it produces.

I was hospitalized for a week, and only woke up when the nurses came in to give me another shot of Morphine and Demerol. My family actually had a Priest in to give me last rites.

The pancreas can destroy itself! Ouch! Give that man some serious pain medication. Doctors know it hurts a lot, so they usually keep the patient completely sedated.

On a scary note, if it is Pancreatic cancer, he could have as much as two years, as little as two months. I'll pray for him, I guess everyone should. He needs it! Blessings on him.
