Today is our 12th wedding anniversary. DH took me out for dinner. We dropped off the kids at my parent's house, along with a pizza! DH didn't tell me where we were going, so I was kind of worried...

We passed 7-ll (LOL!)
We passed Red Lobster, Swiss Chalet, A&W...
We passed Tim Hortons...
We passed the McDonald's in Walmart...
We turned towards the mall with a carnival in the parking lot... I had visions of cotton candy and ferris wheel rides...

nope, passed that too.

And stopped at a little-hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese place. Until you walk in, and it's a good size nice restaurant, and the food was excellent. I had satay chicken with pork rolls on vermicelli? noodles. Yummy.

Yup, he did good!

12 years, eh. Wow, I haven't had a relationship that long with any man. Dreadlock, my beloved best friend, was with me for 11. And then he died.

Very cool. You have to love those best kept secrets that are disguised as a hole in the wall. We always joke about how funny it'd be to offer to take someone out on a romantic date, and then bring them to the McDonald's in Walmart.

The secret is out it seems! The place was 1/3 full when we arrived, and filled up very quickly. The dish I had was only $8.50, and had enough leftovers for both lunch and supper today. And now I've realized that it is only a few blocks from were I do my weekly grocery shopping... and I usually eat out for lunch that day...
