  My 2 Hour "Spa"

Leah was in a nasty mood this morning, so when I dropped her off at playschool this morning, it was a HUGE relief! I'm free, hooray!

I went home, alone, and the way that felt, I could swear I was at a fancy spa somewhere deep in the mountains...

I did a 2 mile walking/kick boxing DVD by Leslie Sansone. I love her videos because they get you warm and moving, but not to the point that you think you are going to die. Then I did some yoga, which I'm really enjoying now. It feels so good to STRETCH all those muscles out, and it's amazing how something that looks easy really gets you warmed up and breathing hard.

I had a shower. Another lovely thing to do with no one in the house to bother you. No kids at the door asking for stuff, no husband just happening to wander by trying to see you naked...

I headed out, and stopped at the liquor store and bought myself a box (yes, a box!) of red wine. For medicinal purposes only, of course. It's good for you, right? I've never bought a boxed wine before, so hopefully it is okay. It was on sale. I'm a sucker for sales.

I headed over to the playschool, and I was 30 minutes early, so I went for a power walk, while listening to the podcasts of Equinely Inclined, a local horse news talk program.

Then I picked up Leah. She gave me a nice hug, and seemed happy and in a better mood, but within 5 minutes she was that nasty little witch girl again. GRRR. I let her watch TV most of the afternoon so that I wouldn't have to deal with her mood.

This evening was her first Karate class. DH and Eric have been going for about 18 months now, and Leah wanted to go too. I came along to watch. Bad idea. I am so mad at her right now. She refused to participate for most of it. She'd start to get into it, but then the smallest little thing would happen, and she would freak out and cry and refuse to do anything else. Now I'm hiding in the basement because I just can't stand her anymore. What the heck am I going to do tomorrow if she's like this again?? We have no plans at all tomorrow, and I really don't want to drive into the city to do something because the gas prices are so high - $1.159/litre! It's annoying when the Americans complain about the price of gas there because it's always higher here in Canada, and Alberta is a huge producer of oil and gas! It should cost LESS here!

Okay, I so want in on the drunken Mommy computer time!Kate has been having some of "those" days, too and I'm the same way...just stick her in front of the TV to avoid the struggle. Being drunk helps a lot...And you don't need to get this Canadian started on gas prices! Country livin' has it's pitfalls, eh?

Sounds like a really nice day except for the little witchy.I know what you're saying about gas... it's been $1.26 here in the Okanagan for a week. It friggin' sucks!

Children can be such little devils! I'm anxious to see how the wine is also--I'm an American whiner on the gas--sorry kiddo, I know that it is bad everywhere. Good for you on the exercise--I'm getting ready to do abs of steel!

The wine was fine, it just gave me a headache! I don't mind.

I know the feeling of not wanting to be around her. Gawd, I know the feeling! And I love the way you just put it out there.
Wish I lived closer, especially because I'm one of the Americans bitching about the price of gas (ha), because I would hide in the basement with you and drink the boxed wine to cure whatever ails me.

That sounds fun. But I'd probably have to go to the library to use their computers so as not to be interrupted. Wonder how much boxed wine I could squeeze into a backpack?

Maybe we should organize an online stressed out mommies only drinking night? We will all hide in the basement, in pajamas, with our computers and boxed wine...

Wine in a box? What kind and how was it?

Peller Estates Proprietor's reserve selection: Shiraz, 13%, $30.99 ($10 off) for 4 litres. I had a glass last night. It tastes great, but gave me a headache.
