but I get half way through, get tired of it, and don't bother posting.
I'm busy. Really busy. Gardening, kids, cleaning, preserving in season food, reading (Fast Food Nation and This Organic Life), shopping, harvesting, cooking, more cleaning, training animals, caring for animals, giving kids horse rides, watering, driving kids places, picking up hay, being allergic to hay, having a strange night after taking allergy medicine...
I got 23lbs of cherries for $15. That kept me busy for a few days. Did 10lbs of peaches. Want to get more! Have plums ripening for home made plum sauce. It's way better than the chemical laden fake crap they sell in grocery stores. I'm trying to get 4 cups of raspberries off my bushes so I can make raspberry vinegar. I don't have a horse trailer to train my foal to load, so I "load" him into the hay shed. It works pretty good. I'm attempting to propagate trees and bushes from cuttings rather than buy them. Mostly saskatoon bushes and maple trees. I'm thinking of making wine - my dad has all the equipment that he isn't using. My husband wants to buy a boat. Next year. Yikes! I'll go along with that, but it has to hold at least 4 adults, have an open bow, and fast enough to water ski (which I've never done). Next week I finally have an appt with an ear doctor to get my ear drained. I've been deaf in one ear for 4 months now? I'm *really* looking forward to hearing properly again. All four of us now have wetsuits and we have been having a great time swimming in the very cold mountain-fed lake at the cabin. Eric is at his second week of daycamp this summer. This time at the recreation centre near his school. They bike ride, play games, do crafts, swim in one of those above ground pools, and horse back ride. Eric was pretty happy that I've given him riding lessons - him and only one other kid was able to ride on their own. The other kids were led. He was so excited that he wanted another riding lesson right after supper today! He's actually getting better, and my horse is starting to listen to him better too. (It's so neat to put a kid on my older THOROUGHBRED horse - they are trained to RUN FAST and be HOT and EXCITABLE - and she walks very slowly and carefully with kids on her back.)
Okay, I think that's all for now. As you see, I'm busy. Lots on my mind. Lots I'm not managing to do. It's difficult to sleep because I want to get so much stuff done!
