On Saturday, DH's work is having their year end party. Which is very strange since their last year end party was just in September or October... Huh?

Anyway, I'm now confused about what to wear. It was always easy before since all the fancy parties I ever went to were in the fall or around Christmas. I know what to wear for that season.

But spring? Do I wear flower prints? Can I wear black? My choices are:

Spaghetti strap cream/pink flowered dress, just below the knee. I was actually going to get rid of this dress. I've worn it once or twice, and it just isn't me. And it's a bit tight.

Black, to the ankle, sleeveless, high slit, high neck, tuxedo dress. The front is plain, the back is see-through with buttons and 2 bows and looks tuxedo-like. It's also a bit tight.

Spaghetti strap, black, above the knee, 2 layer dress with 2 butterflies on one side. I wore this dress for the party 2 years ago, and now I think it's too young for me.

Sleeveless, knee length, reddish-brown dress with brown and cream chevrons on bodice, v-neck. I wore this to the last party, and it's my personal favorite. Should I wear it again?

I also have a burgundy wrap skirt and matching silk sleeveless top that might work. It's more of an office look though.

Or should I go dress shopping? I've tried a few times to sew myself a dress, but it never comes out wearable! Usually, the younger women are very dressed up in their low cut, short, tight, sexy dresses, while the older women are more covered.

And what can I wear on my feet? I have one pair of black shoes that I always wear. I don't do heels, I'm tall enough already! I'm thinking sandals? Bare legs okay? It's at a "club" overlooking a football field. I think "club" isn't the right word for a hotel-like convention room however.

Oh darn, I've got to look around at thrift stores and women's consignment stores this week.

I wouldn't wear black unless there is some kind of pattern or colour to it. Sandals are perfectly acceptable! I would use it as an excuse to go shopping and then post pictures for all of us!

I was eying the top in my avatar picture thinking that with a nice skirt and necklace, it just might work. I'll still check a few places for a dress, and if I'm thrown out of the club for wearing sandals, I'll blame you.
