I watched a program today on the "Discovery Times" channel tittled: "Children of the Secret State". It was about North Korea, and how terrible the conditions are for most of the people that live there, expecially the children. I knew that there were quite a few severe problem in North Korea, but I had no idea the exent of human suffering, and how utterly horrible the majority of the citizens are treated. It really makes you think about your own problems, and realize that just about anything we suffer in our daily lives is nothing compared to what many of our fellow humans in this world endure.
Everybody should watch this documentary. I think we as Americans, and others of the Western world don't think about the suffering of many of the people on this earth. The sad thing is that I think a lot of us don't care. If everyone would just spend a small part of their lives to help others in these types of situatons our world would be a much better place. I'm not just talking about North Korea either; I mean anywhere. Imagine how much we could change things if all of us spent half an hour a week trying to help others. I mean doing anything too, it doesn't even need to cost money. Writing a blog article like I have so other people will be aware is something to do to help.
I haven't thought of some great answer to fix the world, but if you think about it humans throughout history have done amazing things when they've come together. If even half of usk stopped being so self absorbed, and tried to make our world better we would see a huge differece.
