  Diary Moment

I thought I'd better write about this today as it is likely a one night wonder but I am hopefull that is not the case!

So what was this monumental event that warrants such an introduction? What makes this event so special that it can be singled out? Due to the occurance of this event why in the heck do I still feel like I haven't slept?

My 15 month old daughter slept through last night!! This real is a big thing - she has only slept through twice! The first night she was born and at around 5 months old when DH was away on a course in Ayr. Well last night she was put down at 7.30, she was asleep by 8 and we didn't hear another cheap from her till 6.30 this morning. I take bad because our middle one was great at night time - once he stopped needing a feed through the night he slept 8 till 8 every night. My first is a right off- he was crap at bed time - due to the first child syndrome and the fact that we weren't hankering after sleep as much - having only the one at the time it was easy to get by on what snatched hours you could!

But now that we have three rugrats 6-8 hours straight Zzzzz's just wouldn't go amiss. I still woke around the time she normally would - all three occassions! I managed to resist the temptation of poking her to make sure she was still ok - I have tried that before and paid the price of a wide awake child at 3am!

I am hopefull that she is turning a corner but until we have had several all nighters in a row this really is nothing to get too excited about. Maybe if she goes a few nights in a row and Imanage to get a couple of full night's sleep then if she does start to wake again it will be easier to ignore as I will be less tired and able to cope with the disruption. As things stand at the minute she wakes and after a bit I lift her and cuddle her in more so that I can just snooze a little than anything - yeah I hear Supernanny doing her nut!! My little minx is in a habit and it needs to be broken. But what is the alternative? Let her scream and wake the boys too! One awake child though the night is more than enough!

Fingers crossed we get another all nighter. :)

Hoo Rah!!!!!!!!!! I hope that it turns out to be a new leaf that she is turning over! Whew, I remember those sleepless nights, but they do eventually pass.

It is so scary when they sleep through the first time. You want to jump out of bed and check to make sure they are still breathing. When you realize they are, it is such blessed relief. Hopefully she is turning the corner on this.
