After looking so forward to getting to the border and doing some shopping, I never dreamed that my co-workers and I would be so anxious to get back to our little apartments in Ocotlán. We were. In fact, we left for the US on Sunday afternoon and by Wednesday were more than ready to return. In fact, we wondered why we were so nostalgic. As sappy as it sounds, we were really mopey and on the verge of tears for a couple of days. At any rate, we bought most of the things we went for. I, in particular, bought a Milwaukee drill and circular saw, two items I was desperately needing around the house here. We also bought little things we cannot get in Mexico, little luxuries, etc.

Needless to say, we were so homesick that the trip home on Friday seemed interminable. We even canceled a visit with friends on the way down. We opted to eat lunch with them and keep moving instead.

Now, the task at hand is to help settle in the couple of young folks who have joined the ministry here for a time. Also, we have a huge convention to prepare for and other various short trips to make here within the country.

So, carry on, gentle reader. I'm back on duty at my post and I couldn't be happier.
