Slumping Tribe Needs a Trade ...

Mark Shapiro, the GM, has designated J-Mike (Jason Michaels), the Indians/ sometimes left-fielder - platooning with David Delucci - to Buffalo or may even cut him outright. Ben Francisco is on Interstate 90 at this minute, heading for wherever the hell the Cleveland Indians are hiding tonight.

As if this minor move will fix the following batting averages:

Michaels was batting .207 with nine RBIs
Asdrubal Cabrera (.191)
Casey Blake (.202)
Travis Hafner (.209)
Jhonny Peralta (.216)
Ryan Garko (.242) recently snapped an 0-for-25 slide.

Oh how I would be on the telephone and trying to trade a few of these guys! Cabrera and Garko stay. The others are available. Hafner's extended contract will cost the club to buy out, but he would be available. Blake and Peralta going would cut the club's errors by two-thirds this year.

Hey! And how about last year's Cy Young Award winner as part of the deal?

Does anyone out there know a good batting coach?

Hey!
I see where your Indians gave the Mighty Yanks (The Devil's Spawn team) what-for last night! Go Tribe! As the T-shirt says, " I love the Red Sox and anybody that beats the Yankees!!!!!"

It's a good thing they 'designated' J-Mike instead of David Dellucci, as DD hit the 3-run homer in the 8th that won the game! Tonight Cliff Lee pitches vs. Wang. Lee is 5-0. His ERA is single digit.

Looks like The Tribe could use "Wild Thing." Anybody know Charlie Sheen's phone number?
My Red Sox, on the other hand....!!!!!!

You do recall the movies were about the Tribe, then. That was before the 1995 and 98 Big Show years. There is a plan to install a special exhibit of the motion pics in the Club Museum/Hall of Fame.

Happy b'day, bud ... I saw on ESPN an interesting breakdown on the difference b/t Haffner's swing from last season compared to now. How easy it seems to be to develop a hitch that ruins a batting average...

I can hit a nine iron further than he can hit a baseball this year! At least I never hit one into a double play. Larf.

Geez, Jondude, you are getting crazier with age. It is too early to give up on the beloved Tribe. They are only afew games out and no one is doing anything. Wait until Byrd gets his second wind and the Big Lefty realizes that he needs to loose 25 pounds. Hafner is a bomb waitint to go off, and will after the 4th of july. This team will be the divisional winner even though I am keeping an eye on those bastardly Tigers.

I would start Dellucci every game. Platoon Gutierrez and Francisco in right field. Maybe platoon Marte and Casey Blake for a while. I like Jamie Carroll, and he is already getting every other day at Cabrera's 2B spot.

I expect the next move will be Cabrera to Buffalo. Maybe a trade is in the works. The Tigers have some of the same problems... loaded with talent but not connecting bat-to-ball. We call them the Detroit Mariners, since so many of the team were wearing Mariners uniforms in 2003. The Red Sox beat them and Bonderman last night, and the Sox's Mike Lowell (3B) was also in Florida with that team. I never "give up" on my team. I am simply castigating them for acting like A or AA ballplayers.

Happy Birthday, jd! You definitely need a new batting coach! Either that or a new team! Those batting averages are anemic!

Their averages are just below the blood pressure levels of the fans!

I wonder what my father would look like now. My mother doesn't look 82 what's so ever nor does her twin.

You bet I be doing something with him.

We both lost our dads too young. If mine were here, we'd be doing something together. I miss that.
