So I'm painting a trash can. It is one of those medium size sheet metal, galvanized, complete with a bail handle and lid. I'm doing it for the Art Guild's auction that will take place during our Heritage Festival in late September. The funds will go into the Guild's depleted treasury, so the Guild can buy more ridiculous items such as trash cans and rocking chairs (see last year's auction art) in the future, thereby harnessing more of my talent and time for their treasury.
Last year I painted a copy of Vincent Van Gogh's "Starry Night" on an Adirondack rocker. It was a hit.
This year I am doing another decent copy of Vincent's work - actually of two paintings - one on each side of the aforementioned container. The can is due Tuesday the second of September. It will be photographed along with all the others and published in a special section of the local newspaper before the Festival.
Here is the current state of the aforementioned refuse container, as it sits on my foyer table where the cats have been having a blast with my brushes and paint tubes.

Last years I titled the rocker "Vincent's Off His Rocker."
I think I will title this one "Vincent's On The Can."
