There has been a lot of talk in the news lately about illegal immigration. Whether we should toughen our immigration laws, and treat illegal immigrants as criminals. Well, I agree with the masses. We do need tougher penalties for illegal immigrants.
If someone enters your yard through a hole in the fence, without your permission, that person would be seen as a trespasser. And if you choose to call the police, that person would be arrested and thrown in jail. So why should it be any different for illegal immigrants?
Illegal immigrants are sneaking into this country through holes in our borders. Therefore, they should be treated as criminals. Their actions are no different than those of a trespasser on the property of the United States. But I also believe that more needs to be done. Our federal government seems to hesitate when it comes to doing something about the problem of illegal immigration.
So, my question to all of you is, what should be done to curtail the problem of illegal immigration? Should individual states pass their own immigration laws, and if so, how tough should these laws be?
