Pitter and Patter are__what do you suppose?
Two little feet with ten little toes
That belong to a dear little boy I know,
They take him wherever he wants to go.
First they haul him right off to bed
To dress and smooth his rumpled head;
Then they caper to climb a chair,
Daddy and breakfast are waiting there.
Down again and out the door
Dash Pitter and Patter, and oh, the store
Of fun and frolic that fills there day,
Helping our dear little boy to play!
But when evening comes they slower trudge.
Then Pitter and patter can scarcely budge
They lead a laddie with drowsy eyes
To Mother's arms and soft lullabies.
Oh, keep Pitter and patter(its only fair)
All warm and clean and shod with care;
For aren't they fine and faithful, too,
To a dear little boy 'bout the size of-- you!
