Two Teams heading in diffrent direction face off in Vancouver and the Canucks look to get back to their Winning Ways at home Against the Hot Toronto Maple Leafs or should I say hot Toronto Maple Leafs goaltending.
Been No surprise that the Leafs are winning but its how they are winning that is turning heads. The Leafs have been riding their Goaltending and Both Tenders have steped up. Facing 38 shots Tellqvist was amazing against a tough Edmonton squad.
Tough Task Ahead for the Leafs defense when they Go up against a tough bunch of guys in Todd Bertuzzi and Marcus Naslund. Bertuzzi has picked up his game as of late while Naslund leads the team in scoring. Berts a Force in front of the nets and the Shorthanded leafs will have a tough time with bert.
Belfour is In net tonight as he looks to avenge a 1-0 Defeat in which his play carried the Leafs AGAIN.
Bryan McCabe will be out tonight because of a Pulled Groin Muscle . McCabe leads all defensemen in scoring and its by far the top defenceman on the leafs squad.
Just throwing some figures at you but the leafs don't have a player in the top 30 in scoring. Eddie Belfour has a 3.14 G.A.A (higest since his rookie season)
its time some one has stepped up and asked this question? Where is Jeff O niell? Where is Mats Sundin, Kyle Wellwood. Darcy Tucker seems to be the only forward putting up the effort every night and he leads the team with 18 goals. You tell me half way threw the season that Sundin only has 9 goals and I say the leafs are in last place but the Leafs seem to be doing it without the caption and Star forward like O'Niell and Lindros.
Many People have question the Leafs Abilty on the ice but the true key to winning seems to be on nthe bench as in Pat Quinn. How has Pat done it? This team dosen't have the roster to compete with the Senators Or habs of the world but pats got the team playing Tops much like last (played) season when the Leafs Hit a 14 Game unbeaten streak at Midseaon.
Finally its a homecoming of sorts for Vancouver Forward Anson Carter who Grew up In Toronto. He loves playing his hometown squad and expressed some intrest in the Leafs this past offseason but it didnt work out in the end. Anson has been with 6 teams and looks for a home in Vancouver. He is on a line with the Sedins and has played a playmaking role for the twins
