Videophones are a stand-alone device. They allow the user not only to transfer a voice signal, but a visual video signal simultaneously. The concept has been around sense the 60’s, and we all grew up seeing the Jetson’s communicate on videophone’s in their cartoon, as well as various science fiction movies.
What Videophones needed in real life is having the technology catch up to the idea. Broadband Internet and Voip phoning technology, which we like to refer to as
“Video Over Internet Protocol” , are the vehicle’s for videophoning today.
It’s no longer an idea or concept, but a real-time videophoning experience.
