Two common offenses seen in large city misdemeanor courtrooms are prostitution and indecent exposure. My verses on the subject:
PROSTITUTE
She's always tough, she's never cute;
Her job description: prostitute.
The johns approach her on the street,
She smiles and pretends she's sweet.
"You wanna date?" she'll usually say
To men who lewdly look her way,
And just to coax the right reply
She'll flash a bit of breast or thigh.
"Are you a cop?" she'll next request,
As if that's her entrapment test.
Discussion centers on the act
For which she seeks to make contract:
"How much you got?" she asks the guy,
Who wants so very much to buy
The sexual favors that she offers,
He'd spend the limit of his coffers,
Unless by chance he's not a lover,
But really working undercover,
In which event with badge he'll nail her,
Arrest and cuff and book and jail her.
INDECENT EXPOSURE
A crime particularly dirty,
And also a trifle perverty,
Is indecent exposure,
Or, penis disclosure,
In a manner salaciously flirty.
The offender's not armed with a dagger,
Or drunk to the point causing stagger,
Impelled by compulsion,
And causing revulsion,
He's characterized "weenie wagger."
He pleas guilty when called into court,
In a sexual storm, that's his port,
But the judge has a credo:
"Let's reduce his libido,
Get it down to a pint from a quart."
The question is: Will treatment do it,
For him to solutions intuit?
Or send him to jail,
Where all prisoners are male,
And he'll either enjoy or eschew it.
