  Expatriate from Blogster

For the past couple of years I have been blogging at Blogster {see: http://steeve.blogster.com/}which has deteriorated in quality dramatically of late. Other Blogsters are departing that site as well. It was taken over by someone who quite clearly bit off more than they could chew and, in an attempt to re-format the site, ruined it. So, here I am, trying out greasy.com.

My posts will usually be typified by the sort of common sense of which William James spoke when he said: "Common sense and a sense of humor are the same thing, moving at different speeds. A sense of humor is just common sense, dancing."

I avoid politics because I don't care to speak ill of truth-challenged individuals.

I don't get into religion because...I don't get into religion.

There will be photographs posted here, generally from my hikes in and around southwest Utah, where I live in contented retirement.

Because I reside in the boondocks, I don't get to movies much anymore but, when I do, I usually review them for the benefit of others. I also include reviews of books which I read, even tho' they are rarely newly published. I cannot recall when I last bought a new book but, whenever I travel to St. George, UT, they have a wonderful used book store with a quite tempting stock of good books. As Oscar Wilde once famously said: "I can resist anything but temptation." In fact, I recently reviewed his biography which I completed last week, a book I purchased at this above-mentioned, wonderfully fragrant book shop. There is a fine aroma, isn't there, when one enters a good used book store?

My posts often make jocular, tongue-in-cheek, acerbic, or sarcastic comment on people or events which pique my interest. My goal is twofold: to be both informative as well as entertaining. If I accomplish this at least once in awhile, I'll feel gratified.

Can't wait to start seeing some of your photos again!
Too bad about blogster, huh? It became a real frustrating experience. It's amazing how some people can just take a really good thing and run it right into the ground.
Anyway, that's water under the bridge.
This place is really comfortable, and so many of our old friends are here!Feels like coming home. It's what blogster used to be before smarter people than me decided to "improve" it.
Glad you're here!THUMBUP]
