  Summer Reading Kicks Off

Today, was the first day of the summer reading program at work. It means the kids and teens can come into start registering for the various activities and the reading program itself. It was a good kick off. You got a chance to see this week's trivia questions for this week.

I had my first activity today. It was called Insectigami, and we did some origami that allowed the teens to make some bug-like shapes. It was a small group, and they all seemed to have a great time as they intereacted with each other and struggled with it. All-in-all, it seemed like the program work even if the projects didn't come out quite as expected.

It was another day that flew by, but it was a little more fun on this end. I like it when it is busy from programs and stuff because it is more like getting to play the day away.

That's such good stuff you do with the summer program. I was reading some of the posters on display at the Bristol Library for upcoming things the youth will be doing (and presenting). Oh, if only I was younger than 29! I'd love to sign up for this sort of thing!

I really do wish we all had this sort of thing when we were there age! They are so lucky! I think that is what I love about my job. I get to plan all sorts of things I would like to do and call it work.

Very interesting! I did not know she had a crafts book coming out. I have to be honest and say that I never really thought of myself as being arts and craftsy. It is something I have developed as part of my job. I am finding that I seem to have a bit of a skill with it. Who knew!

Origami, huh? Rosie O'Donnell likes to get artsy craftsy; she would love hangin' with you and the teens :) Ro is actually touring to promote her new crafts book for kids and was at Michael's Crafts Store in Framingham signing her book and playing with the kids that came in! Rosie, her pal Cyndi Lauper, and the B52's were spotted at a very high end restauraunt in the North End that same weekend
