This novel concludes the fantastic tale of the Circle. The six heroes finally come head to head with the evil vampire queen Lilith in the alternate world of Geall. The fate of all reality rests on their success. If they do not succeed, then all hope of survival for anyone beside the vampires will end.

This third novel focuses on the final, most unlikely of couples. Cian is a vampire who has survived for 900 years. Moira is the princess of Geall who is not only being forced to take on the mantle of leadership earlier than expected, but her knew role was forced upon her after she found her mother being attacked and killed by a small group of vampire assassins. You would think that this sort of experience would turn her away from vampires, but the attraction that grows between them is too strong even though they know that it will all end when the ultimate battle is completed.

Of all the books in the trilogy, this is the only one that seems to focus more on sex than I would wish. Cian and Moira seem to find all sorts of time to get togehter even as the possible end of everything approaches. You would think they would have other things to keep them busy.

Other than that, this novel lives up to the strong excitement that has built over the previous two novels. Each of the characters gets a chance to shine in the battle both as heroes, but also in their humanity as they feel loss, fear, pain, and hope.

This was defintiely the best well edited of the books in the series.
