  Parking Ticket

I am boiling mad about an undeserved parking ticket I got with my wife a couple of weeks ago. Our NOT guilty defense on line already was responded to with no reduction of an outrageous $165 summons. We visited my wife's uncle at a nearby nursing home where he was on the rehabilitation floor recovering from a fall at his apartment. I parked on a residential street to avoid the $3 parking fee. Upon our return was the familiar New York City orange summons envelope. I supposedly was parked blocking a pedestrian ramp. Well-if there was one it was invisible to me and my wife. The curb was white-a hint of faded blue could be seen if you looked carefully. No lines in street-a couple of white patches under car. I'll admit though, the sidewalk had a slight depression-covered in debris and dirt-but nothing to make us think it was a ramp for pedestrians in the middle of a block. There was a somewhat clearer blue curb and white lines in street a few spots away. I would never intentionally block a ramp. I've passed that spot on many occasions now to find cars parked and ticketed all the time. I guess its more important to give out parking tickets to innocent people then paint the curb and gutter and make it clear if indeed it is a pedestrian ramp. But-that will never happen.
We disregarded taking a photo because it meant taking a day off from work-plus at most-the fine might be reduced-but I'm sure not dismissed. Its a place the city can collect money day and night. I've written a protest letter to the editor of several local papers which were published in some..my only satisfaction warning people not to park there. Any suggestions?

I think you've done all you can do. It's infuriating, for sure. $165 seems excessive, too.

Yes-Thanks. $165 is excessive.. I was not parked there on pupose blocking this invisible ramp. Peoplle speed-go through lights, stopsigns, tailgate, weave in and out of highway traffic ay excessive speeds, have no regards for traffic laws-and they get way with it. That really bothers me.
