I met today with Dr. Stanley West. I was in his office for 1.5 hours with a very nice man explaining to me fibroids in detail. What a difference from this Dr. Matthew Cohen who wanted to cut my body and make sure I would have no fallopian tubes left by the time he was finished with me.
I walked into Dr, West office. I felt at home. His assistants were nice I didnt eat all day because I was so nervous. I went with a friend of mine and by the time he was finished I felt a HUGE sigh of relief. The biggest fibroid I have is 18 weeks. The surgery will take 3 hours. He has also been on 20/20 and intervied by Katie Couric. He believes in a woman's body being intact not destroyed like Dr. Cohen would.
His Book is entitled the Hystorectomy Hoax. It is a very quick read and goes into detail about how fibroids grow etc. I am so relieved. He said that it is very possible that fibroids are sitting right on one of my fallopian tubes. I will have one month of healing not three months like the butcher of Manhassett.
