I am just curious if you have read the book or have talked to a doctor about it? My mother was on it per her doctors orders and did not have to have her liver checked and lost 160 pounds in one year and kept it off. That was many years ago. The only thing remotely dangerous about it is the induction phase. It has four phases and the final three are no different than any other low carb diet. Bread and potatoes make you fat. Most Americans eat too much protein.

When I get "fat" I cut the carbs, well i cut bread potatoes and pasta. Just cutting those and sticking to a meal plan will make anyone lose weight then go swimming and you are all set! My mother now does this same thing. Because counting anything is bullshit and not a lifestyle change.

When I say meal plan i do not mean counting out your food and calories , I mean plan for the week and what your serving and eat what you want of that food that cuts out emotional eating.

People might take what you say more seriously if you did not invoke your emotional feeling as fact. Atkins is by far, not a fad. 35 years does not equal fad.

I would not call it a "fad" diet since it has been around since 72 also it has been prescribed to diabetics and people entering the military who need to get off some weight to get in.

In fact when monitored and done properly it is a very good diet but many like to stay in induction for to long because of that massive weight drop.

I would hate to see you go however your article specifies raping a child, "Raping a child is cruel and unusual. Executing a child rapist is not" as well as specifying a child rapist. His failure to refer to a rapist in general shows the distinction has ALREADY been made.

I defiantly think in some instances execution is viable but on the same note there are people who have murdered more than five people who are not being executed. I would rather see them executed first.

I give no special assignment to children when it comes to crime though. Children are people and so is a 25 year old woman who is brutally raped. I believe they both deserve equal protection under the law not special attention because of age. No one can quantify who had had their life ruined more or less or who has the better change of recovery.
