I has been finishing updating huawei E220 installer for linux.
This is not for sale. You can change a password, phone dialer and username at /etc/wvdial.conf after installing a package.
If you use this, you are agree that all fault it's not my responsible.
Use this at your own risk. I has tested to x86, for other architecture such as amd etc, just try it and send me a comment here.

1. After extract tar.gz file, change directories to the file and be the su@superuser@sudo. However, you can try both of them.
For installation, firstly you must be a root and run this command:
make special
(for sabayon or for any distro that cannot do make install)
make install
2.Dial wvdial huawei or sh /etc/mod.sh at terminal or use kppp to dial.
3. I have test to 16 distro (top 20 distro at distrowatch) and it's work. But it doesn't work with FreeBSD, Mepis 5, gOS 2.0 Beta and Zenwalk 5.0
4. How to connect? It have a four "sometimes". Sometimes it automatically connect after install, sometimes it automatically connect after reboot, sometimes you must use kppp and sometimes you have to put:
wvdial huawei
5.It is stable version than before and it is a final release (even it is e220 RC 1 lol) because certain distro doesn't work with it.
6. well, if you install my huawei e220 on your PCLinuxOS gnome, it's hard to get connect by wvdial huawei except you dial with ppp0 place on top right of your pc. Right click an icon and put your root password. It seems like Mandriva ppp0. Coose analog telephone modem (POTS).
Manual choice -> choose /dev/ttyUSB0, dont choose any "
provider, just proceed with NEXT, evetually type the following: "
Connection name: Your-Provider "
Phone number : *99# "
Login ID : ppp (can be whatever) "
Password : ppp (can be whatever) "
Authentication : CHAP "
7.Keep clicking on NEXT and you shall be connected soon ;) Then, firstly install KPPP at synaptic package manager. That's all
8. For Mint Daryna, delete /etc/resolv.conf inside filesystem and change it with my resolv.conf again.
9. For opensuse, just follow a readme.
