*Turns flips (only in my mind)*

*Sings a few lines of 'I told you so"*

FOX-TV this morning reported the Big Foot joke from N. Georgia was just that: a fraud, a joke, a stupid trick, hoax.

Wonder what gave it away? The plastic foot? The "possum" innards? The fake fur?

My only comment is: HELL'S BELLS! We of the Southern persuasion get enough flack without the help of these yahoos.

I have most of my own teeth (wisdome ones went years ago). I am college eduated with a profession that I love.  Own my own home. Live with someone to whom I am not blood-related.  I salute the flag. I sing (slightly off key) the National Anthem and Amazing Grace and Glory, Glory to old Georgia and Georgia on my Mind.

Most people only see the folks with three teeth, no bath in quite a few weeks, living in a trailer park outside civilization who always comment, "Well I tell ya, it sounded like a freight train" when their face is splattered over TV explaining a tornado.  Do they ever say that freight train that goes by every day at 0900 sounds like a tornado????

That, my friends, is not a representation of the people where I live.  We talk slowly, think things through and eat strange things like grits and fried okra and sugar-cured ham and home-made buscuits. We drink our tea sweetened and over ice like God intented.  We respect our elders and correct our young ones.  Just because I have a "southern drawl" does not mean my brain is slow.  I just choose to live life to the fullest and not miss a moment of wonder.

Where was I going before I got off track and sarted my rant....Oh yes. I  See.  Big Foot and his relatives are not lurking around the mountains in my lovely part of the world. Besides, If they came upon a moonshine still, they would never leave, would start families and soon have their own community nestled in the side of LookOut Mountain.  Happy and peaceful and inviting other people to come sit a spell and lift a glass of "shine".  They would be most content living and loving in my world.

Come visit.  I'll show you Rock City, Ruby Falls and the most wonderful Incline Railway. We will visit the aquarium and watch the wonders of undersea life just a few inches from your face.  You can catch a professional baseball game and get real popcorn and hot dogs.  I'll take you on a tour of the Chattanooga/Chickamauga Civil War Battlefield where you can see various breeds of wild life.  We can walk over several bridges that offer breath-taking views of Chattanooga at night.  We have art galleries, local tallents and running water.

But best of all...I'll show you the part of the world I call home.

I followed Cindy over here... You can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the... well, I learned all I needed to learn about the south... Alabama I believe, which is right next to Georgia... isn't it? Anyway, I learned it all in a movie called "My Cousin Vinnie." It must be true or they wouldn't have made a movie of it, would they? Well, I have since then started liking country music, so... there must be something in the water... I know, none of this makes any sense. I'll come back later when I'm a little rested from blogging.

The last time I checked the map, Alabama was our next door neighbor. I can drive 20 minutes and be in either Tennessee or Alabama. By the way, I do drink bottled water!

Blog who???????? Don't know that place. You know me, girl, I'm a Georgia Bulldog fan through and through. I just ordered shirts for my hubby and I, mine says "Georgia mom" in red and black and his is a Georgia Bulldog Dad shirt. Girl I'm proud to have a son at that fine institution. I also am well educated have more than 3 teeth and think that the deep southern accent is one of th eprettiest in the whole USA> Go Dawgs!!!!!!! Hunker Down!!!! (Yep I did say that)

All this hoaxing going on... First we get a two-ton wild pig some kid shot with a .22. Now we get a Bigfoot in a freezer. What's next? Maybe someone will try to hoax us that the last eight years have been economic boom times!

The only "Bigfoot" that exists is right here in these parts. Elmer Feasel. He wears a size twenty shoe and lives over near Broken Sword, along Hickapoo Creek. Elmer has to have custom shoes and boots made for him by some guy down in Georgia who makes his own shoes and boots for his own size 20 feet. Elmer doesn't have hair all over his body, either, but he has a big dog that does.

For some strange reason, I believe you! I worked with a nurse (male) once that wore a size 17. Actually could order shoes from a local dealer. When he died we kept a pair of his shoes in the ER with a sign reminding folks there were big shoes to fill when he left us.
