  Saturday ... .Ahhhhh

Woke this morning to the sounds of thunder rolling across the sky and rain tap-dancing on the roof. Ahhhhhh.  What a wonderful thing.  On my wanderings around this part of the country I've seen a zillion "Yard Sale" signs.  Also this was to be the weekend of Chickamauga's "Downhome Days".  This is a day of arts and crafts, cotton candy and snow-cones, bands, dancing in the street, etc.  Just a good old redneck thing.  Needless to say, we chose to stay home.  I'm hoping the Down Home Days will be re-scheduled for another weekend.  I love stuff like that.  The yard sales can always happen again, but the Chickamauga festival is planned for a year in advance.

I'm trying out the new "advanced editor" on this post to see if it works or not.  The last one didn't have paragraph breaks, the font I wanted, etc.

Is it just me? Maybe I'll catch on sooner than later.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

I just returned home from Churchill Downs and the KY Derby, I did not pick the winner, the favorite, had my small bet on Colonel John - too bad. Great weather at the track today, won a few place and show bets, lost more than I won though, as usual. Really glad I was unable to go yesterday with most of my friends - Oaks Day - Louisville resident's day at the track - cold, windy, and 5 inches of rain. It got up to 73 around noon, with a nice breeze, about 50 now.

Hey! Miz Scarlett! Happy you cruised by. I have problems with this advanced editor as well. Blogster has them beat in that category.

a sure harbinger of springtime in the South....when the "yard sale" signs are in bloom. when summer comes it will be the "sweet corn" signs.
