OMG I'm such an idiot!! I watched video after video on youtube thinking I was doing something wrong and realized that YO is only one stitch! In the knitting book I have it has it where you count the yarn over plus the stitch you make after it. Thank goodness, I'm so relieved. Thank you for your patience!! And for your help, and your beatiful pattern!!

Hi. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question earlier. I'm not trying to be difficult but I still dont get it. For example, row 35: k6=6 stitches, SSK will result in 1 stitch, YO will result in 2 stitches, etc. When you add all the numbers together, I get a total of 156 stitches!
K6=6, *SSK=1, YO=2, K9=9, YO=2, SSK=1, k8=8, YO=2, k2tog=1* Total between ** is 26, you repeat so 26+26=52+6+47+41=146+12 (12 stitches from the border) =158 stitches total. I'm not arguing with you! I'm just hoping you can catch where my mistake is, maybe i'm knitting something wrong?? I really love this pattern and would really just like to finish it.

I'm a beginner knitter and have been working on this blanket for a long time. I am stuck on row 35. I dont understand how the number of stitches jumps from row 33 to row 35 by two stitches, and then again by two stitches on row 37. I've tried to figure out a way to make it work but then my hearts dont look right. Am I supposed to add the stitches in the purl rows? Please help!

The only rows that have two extra stitches are rows 41 and 93. You'll get rid of the two extra stitches in rows 42 and 94 bringing the total number of stitches in each row back to 152.

I love this blanket and the bib too! I think I am going to make them with the cottontots that I have in storage for that new granddaughter of mine. Thanks so much for sharing your patterns and talent.
