It looks like a baby that hasn't gotten its colors yet? Or is it a female? We found a few dead ones here last summer where they'd run into the windows or whatever. The cat wasn't allowed out so he wasn't guilty.

Our cats contribute to the larder all the time...drives me nuts. I'm surprised a hummingbird got caught.

Nature is cruel, without a shadow of a doubt, but, it is survival, I suppose.
I have had a few 'run-ins' where cats have brought their booty home with them

- the first time involved a 'frog', which my daughter and I believed to be dead - oh! were we wrong!

How neither of us had cardiac arrests on the spot, I'll never know - we were both 'scared stiff' of them anyway and, when it began hopping around . . . well, we were 6 feet in the air

She brought that in to show it off to you and make you proud. Yeah, I know, I never fall for that line either.
Grace and I have this bird feeder and I told her the other day we were going to have to stop feeding them because the cats have caught on.

Wow, how on earth did she catch a hummingbird? She is one fast kitty. I used to have a cat that constantly brought me mice and grasshoppers. She would stand at the sliding glass door with grasshopper legs sticking out of her mouth.

awww not a hummingbird! my dog sheba, used to catch birds. I don't know how she did it but she sure was proud of herself.

When I read bloody cat, I thought she had been hurt! Then, I thought, good kitty, she had caught a mouse! Oh, my--a hummingbird. They are generally so very quick!
